BECOME THE OWNER OF MEDITATION
The author of the exhibition is artist Tomas Lagūnavičius.
The opening of the exhibition took place on September 6 at 3 p.m.
The exhibition runs from September 7 to October 31.
This interactive art project invites the visitor not only to watch, but also to participate in the creative process, choosing the painting closest to them and the accompanying meditation, thus instantly becoming the owner of the chosen experience. The exhibition explores the fusion of art, performance and spiritual practices, raising questions about the boundaries of ownership in contemporary culture: is it possible to “own” not only a work of art, but also a state, a feeling, an inner experience?
The project is based on the post-structuralist philosophical tradition, in which meanings are not fixed – they are created by the viewer himself. Here, not only the visual impression is important, but also the relationship between the work, experience and personal choice. The artist's idea expands the concept of the art object, moving it from the material to the experiential plane, where the work of art exists only to the extent that it is chosen, experienced and absorbed.
The exhibition becomes a performance in which the visitor is not a passive observer, but an active participant, acquiring ownership not through purchase but through choice. In this way, a dialogue is created about the value of art, individual connection, and the transformation of ownership in contemporary culture.
